2017 Swimming Championship

The 2017 Swimming Championship was held last evening at the Hickory Hill Aquatic Center. It was a great meet with a total of six previous records broken. Records were made in the women’s 50 yard backstroke (Meredith Geyer; Germantown), 50 yard butterfly (Lucy Davis; Central), and 100 yard IM (Isabel Cui; White Station). On the men’s side records were set in the 50 yard freestyle (Herman Trevor; Germantown), 50 yard butterfly (Grady Leopard; Central), and 100 yard IM (Grady Leopard; Central). The women’s team champion was Central High School coached by Ryan Quinn scoring a total of 283 points. The men’s team champion was Germantown High School with a total of 117 points coached by Cynthia Geyer and Barbara Edwards. The MVPs of the championship were Meredith Geyer and Herman Trevor both of Germantown. Each MVP scored 60 points and placed first in multiple events. Congratulations to all of the competitors, several of the swimmers have qualified to attend the TISCA State Swim Meet held next month in Knoxville!
